Askeskar has been part of the Mattsson family since the 1800's when it was given as a wedding gift to a local house maid and her husband. Since that date Askeskar Island has become a member of one of Vasterviks most treasured islands. Today Askeskar is protected by Kalmar Lansratt as a Nature Reserve.

ReplyDeleteDarren I have truly enjoyed browsing through your pics showing the transformation and hard work you and Maria went to in creating a lovely retreat, also the traditional Swedish midsummer celebration dance by your friends. But for me what takes the biscuit is this pic showing what looks like your attempt at the Maori/All Blacks "Haka" great stuff!!!!! Paul Dishington.
