Theres a mad man about!

Thursday saw a total different island to that of which we had experiance the day before. The storm was on its way and I was making sure I was prepared for it. I've never really experiance bad weather out here but I guess it could be a little isolated.

THe perfect evening!

This picture needs no words. Wednesday eveing was great. A beautiful walk and the sun setting after a hard day. This is what island life is all about. Im begining to get use to it and push away all those negative thoughts about real life. Scary

Hang up my boots!

At the end of a hard day I decided to hang up my boots and put my feet up. There are no radiators out here so the good old stove will have to do.

Its Out

Out the door, no sweat!

Maria lends a hand

Finally moved to the door the generator needed one last push before it was finally out the door. Maria and her father do the last minute adjustments to the process before it make it out of our way for good.

Some techinical moves

Bengt was needed today to help with the skill of removing the generator. Together with some fancy fishing knots, a winch (not Maria, oh thats a wench!!) and strong muscles we finally moved the 600kg generator.

Welcome to the neighbours

Max has taken to the island better than we expected so much that we find it hard to keep him inside the house now. On Wednesday he took time out to visit the neighbours. The island hosts a hand full of bulls each year who spend several months grazing on the island before becoming a great piece of meat.

Time to strike up the stove

Here you can see how in the past the old house is. This may seem primative but the old house has been left untouch for many years but everything still works and does the job perfectly.

The first wall down!

At the end of Tuesday the first wall falls to reveal the lounge to the kitchen. A great sight which shows me just what I am dealing with. One wall left!
